Daily Disposables

I often get comments regarding contact lenses such as:

1. “Di ba dilikado yan.”

2. “Hassle yung pag linis.”

3. “Minsan lang ako gumagamit ng contact lens.”

Actually, there are Daily Disposable Contact Lenses, where you simply throw away the lenses after using them. They’re usually purchased per box, where 1 box contains 30 to 32 pieces of Contact Lens blister packs.

Here are some answers to the usual comments I receive from patients making them hesitant in buying Contact Lenses:

1. “Di ba dilikado yan.” - If you’re anxious about Contact Lens hygiene, with Daily Disposable Contact Lenses, since you’re opening a NEW PAIR of contact lenses every day, it’s assumed the lenses are sterile/Clean.

All you have to do is to make sure you washed your hands properly. 20 seconds with antibacterial soap, so no harmful Microbes are left in your hands.

2. “Hassle yung pag lilinis.” - No cleaning required. Simply throw them away PROPERLY, and then open another pair the next time you want to use Contact Lenses.

3. “Minsan lang ako gumamit ng Contact Lens.” - If you find yourself using eyeglasses most days of the week, and Contact Lenses for 2 to 3 days a week, it might save you money. Here’s why: a. You save money from buying Contact Lens Solutions, where you usually store your Contact Lenses. Remember, Daily Disposable CL’s are just thrown away after use. b. The expiration date of the box is usually 2 to 3 years. If you’re planning to use contact lenses once a week, for example, every basketball game, a 1 box of 30pcs could last up to 30 weeks of fresh pairs of Contact Lenses!
